About Rosa van Doorn
Rosa grew up in the northwest of the Netherlands within a true cycling family. During her high school she cycled 19k to school every day…. and 19k back. In this part of the country, where wind is a daily promise, Rosa started with beach races from a young age. Since she moved to the hilly east of the Netherlands, Rosa developed her technical riding skills on the mountain bike even more.
Riding for Giant-Liv Benelux Offroad Team
Last year Rosa started as an ambassador for Giant Live Store ‘s-Heerenberg and recently she signed a U23 contract with Giant Liv Benelux Offroad Team. “I am evolving myself on marathon, cross country and eliminator races to compete with top riders in the U23 category. Last year I rode the Sella Ronda HERO Marathon in the mighty Italian Dolomites. By far my toughest marathon; let’s say one to remember! Although I finished proudly fourth in my categorie, I asked myself why I started this race. But just moments after finishing, I realized that I wanted to register for next years race right away!”

Training without races
During the times when corona took over our daily lives, Rosa felt privileged to live in the Netherlands. “As we didn’t have a full lockdown, I was able to train outside and in the part of the Netherlands where I live it is quiet in the forests. I took the opportunity to focus on technique training, finding new trails and enjoy my rides with my family as well. Absolute Cycling asked me to test their A-sample bike computer and I can spend quite some time on this right now. However I really do miss the races and was looking forward to the season. Let’s hope there will be racing opportunities for the second half of the year.”

Why are you testing?
“Absolute Cycling asked me to test their A-One bike computer as we have a lot in common. We both want to push it to the limit. I am studying Sport Studies and learn about the latest trends and developments in the field of sports applications. The development and innovative ideas of Absolute Cycling appealed to me right away. During my training it is important to train in a certain heart rate zone. As many athletes sometimes I’m a bit too enthusiastic and miss the right zone. I am very happy that with the A-One I can easily train in the right zone and can fully integrate my TrainingPeaks program. Both me and my trainer as well are looking forward to testing this integration soon.”

What do you expect of the A-One?
Rosa loves to explore new trails in the Netherlands and when training in the mountains in Europe. “I am looking forward to testing the navigation options in the coming months. As I’ve been testing the basic metrics and use of the A-One for about a month now I am quite impressed by its screen. I expect that the 800×480 px screen will show more details in the forest and is easy to use while being focused on the trails. Together with its accuracy and user friendly interface it will add more joy to my rides and trainings.”
